Germany Develops Laser Weapons Destroyer Unmanned Aircraft

The German defense industry, Rheinmentall Defence, introducing weapons destruction spy planes (drones). This new weapon uses high-energy laser systems.

Page BBC, Tuesday, January 8, 2013, preaching, powerful 50 kilowatt laser weapon is equipped with radar and optical systems for the detection of two drones that come from outside. The system will lock the weapon drones to track the location of the current radar target. Then the tool will track the optical system.

Drones are driving at speeds of 50 meters per second and in the area of affordable radar, certainly will be destroyed by this laser weapon. Rheinmetall claim to be able to shoot two drones at once in the distance over a mile.

In trials, high-energy laser was successfully cut 15 millimeters thick steel. This gun also fired steel balls that are designed to resemble mortar into the air. Rheinmetall has tested these weapons in a variety of conditions, including when it was snowing, sunny, or rainy.

Currently, the weapon is still static, should be placed in a certain place. Looking ahead, Rheinmetall will design a laser weapon system is to be mobile is equipped with automatic cannon. Rheinmetal plans to test laser weapons in different vehicles. They also plan to integrate these weapons with caliber 35 millimeter cannon.

A number of government and the defense industry in the world are also developing laser weapon. For example, Raytheon launched anti-aircraft laser at the Farnborough Airshow 50kW in 2010. In June 2012, the U.S. Army released details of weapons that can fire laser guided lightning to target target.
